Readings from Advices & Queries

In Quaker Faith & Practice sections 1.05 to 1.07, Quaker Meetings are asked to consider and report the ways in which section 1.02 (Advices and Queries) is used.

Cheltenham Local Meeting has for some time invited Friends to read, if they feel so moved, from Advices and Queries (or some other part of Quaker Faith & Practice) during Meeting for Worship. Each person who accepts this responsibility carries it for 4 to 6 weeks. During that time, they seek particular guidance about whether to read and what to read. If led to speak, they afterwards record which passage was read, in a small notebook maintained for the purpose.

The following tabulation is an analysis of the information collected in that notebook between 1996-01-14 and 2011-11-27.
